Behind Bars x XXXI Studio: Rethinking the Bar Experience at The Gulf Bar Show
Showcasing Our Vision and Collaboration at The Gulf Bar Show in Dubai
Lisbon Design Week 2025 brought together an inspiring mix of contemporary design and artisanal craftsmanship, with XXXI.studio opening its doors to share new creations that explore space, materiality, and function. Among the highlights was their launch of a stainless steel furniture collection designed specifically for hospitality environments, featuring elegant stools and tables that blend durability with refined minimalism.
As part of this presentation, XXXI Studio and Behind Bars collaborated to create a custom bar station that perfectly complements the furniture collection. Designed with a clean, modern aesthetic and thoughtful engineering, the station reflects the careful balance of form and function that defines both partners’ approach.
The team from Fúria were the first to bring the concept behind the XXXI Station to life, originally developed for their compact yet high-performing bar in Lisbon. A space defined by contrast and control, Fúria merges bold ideas with quiet precision, and the station was designed to reflect just that: mobile, modular, and made to adapt.
At the event, the Fúria team brought their creative energy behind the bar, showcasing a selection of drinks served at the XXXI Station. It was a chance to see the concept in motion, not as a showpiece, but as a tool built for fluidity, rhythm, and real service.

Behind Bars and XXXI Studio came together to share a joint approach to hospitality design: practical, creative, and focused on how spaces feel and function. The bar station and furniture collection stayed on display throughout the week, giving visitors a chance to see the details up close.
XXXI Studio’s work continues to emphasize local production, collaboration with skilled artisans, and a respect for materials, principles clearly visible across their stainless steel collection and the unique Sugi Stool, which showcases traditional Japanese wood-burning techniques.
