Il Salotto Mixology & Food Via Fornace 11, Orcenico Inferiore, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy 33080 Instagram

Set in the quiet town of Zoppola, Il Salotto positions itself somewhere between a contemporary restaurant and a cocktail-led social space. Reopened with a renewed focus on mixology and food, the venue builds its identity around refined Italian hospitality, modern seafood dishes, seasonal ingredients, and a bar experience designed to sit at the center of the room rather than alongside it.

The menu moves between coastal and inland influences from Friuli, pairing crudi, shellfish, tartares, risotto, and elegant mains with a beverage program intended to shape the rhythm of the experience. Rather than functioning as a traditional restaurant with cocktails attached, Il Salotto approaches food and drink as a single conversation. Aperitivo moments, guest interaction, and the visual presence of the bar all become part of the atmosphere.

When the venue underwent its recent transformation, interior designer Marta Gover was brought in to redefine the core of the space while preserving the character guests already associated with Il Salotto. The furnishings, palette, and spirit of the venue remained intact, but the operational heart of the room was entirely reconsidered through a new frontline bar installation developed in close collaboration with owner Luca.

Behind Bars delivered a custom Tayēr station with a flushed stone countertop integration, designed specifically for the compact footprint and guest-facing nature of the venue. The station combines the ergonomics and functionality of the Tayēr system with the openness of an island-style setup, encouraging direct interaction between bartenders and guests. The configuration was developed to support both service efficiency and a more engaging hospitality flow. Every function was concentrated into a clean frontline layout that allows the team to move comfortably through cocktail production while maintaining visibility and connection with the room around them. Material considerations, detailing, and workflow were balanced carefully within the limited footprint, creating a station that feels integrated into the architecture rather than inserted into it.
