Designing an Intimate Experience: The Vision Behind Press Club
A Nostalgic Underground Hideaway from Two Mixology Visionaries, with Matt Kelly of Make Design Studios Shaping the Interior Where Cocktails and Vinyl Collide in a Timeless Space.
Tucked beneath Dupont Circle in D.C., Press Club is an intimate underground bar where music and cocktails move in harmony. Founded by Will Patton and Devin Kennedy, it blends the warmth of a ‘70s cocktail lounge with the raw energy of a ‘90s record shop.
Bringing this vision to life, Matt Kelly of Make Design Studios crafted a space where every detail — rich textures, moody lighting, and seamless flow — feels intentional. Behind Bars designed and built a Paloma double station with a custom-depth flex well, tailored to support both efficiency and atmosphere behind the bar.
